We’re driven to explore language — written and spoken — to enrich lives and impact change in the world. Together, we foster a greater appreciation for the role human creativity plays in society. The English Department offers opportunities at every level for students to improve their written and spoken language skills. In addition to professional and public writing, students of all majors can take pursue their interests through certificates in linguistics, film, or exile studies.
Our faculty are scholars in a multiplicity of fields ranging from world literature to semantics and writers of memoirs, thrillers, poetry and more.
