Linguistics 4 + 1, Accelerated Masters Program
The Linguistics Program at Florida International University offers an accelerated Master of Arts program in Linguistics to enrolled seniors in English and Modern Languages. Students choosing this fast-track option are eligible to take up to twelve graduate credits while still completing undergraduate course work. In addition to financial advantages, this program allows students to bypass the time commitment and anxiety of the graduate admissions process and places them within a year of obtaining their Master’s degree upon graduating with their Bachelor’s.
Requirements for 4+1
- Current enrollment in the Bachelor’s Degree program in the Department of English or Modern Languages.
- Must have completed at least 75 and not more than 90 credit hours of undergraduate course work at the time of application.
- Must have completed one of the following classes with an A grade: LIN 3010, LIN3013, LIN 4680, FRE 3780, SPN 3733.
- Must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
